Alpha Sy

Alpha is the Managing Director of Sy Investments, responsible for implementing investment strategy, overseeing the development of portfolio businesses and managing Sy Investments' network of investors.

A seasoned entrepreneur with over 25 years in international trade and corporate finance, Alpha spent the first eleven years of his career with Cotecna: as a business analyst in Accra from 2000, then at the Geneva headquarters as Group Risk Manager, where in 2004 he structured and closed a USD 30 million financing for the group's Nigerian subsidiary, and finally as Senior Vice President, Africa (2005–2011), in charge of operations including Nigeria and Ghana.

Since January 2021 he has also served as Senior Investment Advisor and Country Manager for Senegal of the Hydroma Group, the Canadian-Malian pioneer of natural hydrogen production. He is a co-founder, shareholder and director of COSENI, architect of the financial model behind Senegal Supply Base, and has arranged XOF 3.7 billion of bank financing for the group's oil & gas logistics companies since 2023. Since 2014 he has also been the main financial advisor to Meridian Logistics and Engineering, a leading Ghanaian EPC contractor, structuring USD 84 million of financing. See the full track record.

From 2014 to 2022, Alpha served as an elected member of the Municipal Council of Guinguinéo, Kaolack.

El Hadj Malick Sy

Mr. Sy is a Senegalese entrepreneur and professional conference interpreter, a graduate of the prestigious La Sorbonne University in Paris and the University of London.

He was elected the first African President of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC) — "the home of conference interpreters worldwide" — overseeing the association for 8 years and playing a pivotal role in recent reforms to the profession.

As an entrepreneur he has established various successful ventures in Senegal in fishing and wood processing, and is the Managing Director and founding partner of SotraTours, a Senegalese market leader tour operator with over 15 years of existence.

As co-founder and Chairman of Sy Investments, Mr. Sy is responsible for the overall orientations and key strategic decisions of the company. Mr. Sy is an avid tennis and golf player, and currently chairs the most exclusive golf club in Senegal.
